Natural cures for infertility

Cure Infertility Naturally

Lifestyle changes that boost the odds of pregnancy

Numerous studies show that people with infertility get pregnant with a number of natural therapies. If you have unexplained infertility (including low sperm count), couples can enter a study (done by mail). You supply the needed labs and we review, evaluate, and send you both the treatments and instructions you’ll need—free! We expect most couples will get pregnant. This is an exciting (and free) way of getting pregnant if you have infertility.

Treatments are a mix of lifestyle and supplements. For example:

FOR MEN (Can markedly raise sperm count, which is very helpful even if sperm count is normal.):

A) Life Style Education

These are important things to avoid from now until after your wife gets pregnant, as they can cause infertility. Just do the best you can with these guidelines—OK to not be perfect.

1. Avoid soy based foods (e.g., tofu, tempeh, soy cheese and milk, etc). Even modest intakes drop sperm counts by 40%.

2. Sperm do poorly at temperatures over 96 °F (which is why the testes hang below the rest of the body to stay cooler). Avoid elevated scrotal temperatures by wearing boxer shorts. Do NOT wear briefs, tight fitting underwear or jeans. Avoid hot tubs. Avoid rowing/ski machines, treadmills or jogging unless the testes can hang free.

3. Avoid aspirin, Motrin or similar medications which block the hormone prostaglandin (prostaglandins in the seminal fluid may assist sperm). Tylenol is OK in moderation (if you need high doses regularly, let’s discuss).

4. Avoid alcohol when convenient, and tobacco if able.

5. When convenient, avoid meat with estrogen (i.e., get your meat from a natural foods store).

6. Avoid melatonin, testosterone, Verapamil and Nifedipine (latter two are heart/blood pressure medications) which can cause reversible infertility.

7. Increase liquid vegetable oils and avoid cottonseed oil (may contain gossypol which inhibit sperm function), palm or coconut oils or trans, hydrogenated or saturated fats as comfortably able.

B) Treatments (We will mail these free to those in the study. Begin after obtaining the first sperm sample.)

All of these can be taken together in the morning (or split up or taken any time of day). They increase sperm count and function, and your energy as well! Get your baseline sperm count sample in to the lab/urologists office before beginning these treatments. Repeat the sperm count after four months on these treatments (best if both sperm counts are done at the same lab). Take these for nine months or till your wife gets pregnant. If pregnant before four months into treatment, repeat the sperm count and then you can stop the supplements.

1. Supply overall nutritional support with the “Energy Revitalization Powder” by Enzymatic Therapy. Take ½ to 1 scoop a day as feels best (use less if gas/diarrhea) and the one capsule.

2. CoEnzyme Q10 (chewable) 200 mg/day. Chew one each morning.

3. L-Arginine 1,000 mg. Take 2 twice a day.

4. Acetyl-l-carnitine 1,000 mg/day.

5. Carnitine 1,000 mg/day.

6. Zinc 15-30 mg/day (1 a day).

7. Ribose 5 gm (1 scoop) twice a day (can use like sugar and mix in food or drinks). The second dose can be taken any time during the day (or at bedtime).

FOR WOMEN:

A) Life Style Changes

These are important things to avoid from now until after you are three months pregnant, as they can cause infertility. Just do the best you can with these guidelines—OK to not be “perfect” with them.

1. Avoid coffee and sodas (tea is OK). Coffee and sodas inhibit fertility—often markedly.

2. Avoid supplements with melatonin (which is sometimes used to treatinsomnia) as it can affect reproductive hormones. It can sometimes helppregnancy as well.

3. Only take the vitamin C and vitamin A in the vitamin powder below, and not in any other supplements without checking with me.

4. Avoid a high protein/Atkins’ diet in which carbohydrates are strictly avoided (the protein in a regular diet is fine—even if you eat a lot of high protein foods).

5. No alcohol if Prolactin levels are higher than 10 (and avoid in general as is convenient).

6. Avoid vaginal lubricants such as FemGlide, Replens and Astroglide which can damage sperm. Pre-seed brand is OK.

7. If you smoke, stop till after the baby is born if you can. Smokingcontributes to infertility in many ways.

Lifestyle Things to Do to Help Get Pregnant

1. It works best to have intercourse on the day you ovulate and up to four days before (otherwise “ad lib” whenever you feel like it). It is OK to have intercourse multiple times during this period. For purposes of getting pregnant, intercourse even one day after ovulation is unlikely to result in pregnancy—but OK to do anyway for its other benefits.

2. Enjoy milk products but use regular ones that have the normal amount of milk fat (e.g., whole milk) instead of low fat or fat free milk products. In a Harvard study, high intake of low-fat dairy foods was associated with an increased risk of infertility, while an increased intake of high-fat dairy foods was associated with a lower risk of infertility. Women consuming at least two servings of low-fat dairy foods per day showed an 85% increased risk of infertility. On the other hand, women consuming at least one serving of high-fat dairy foods per day showed a 27% reduced risk of infertility. Whole milk products (instead of low fat) also taste better.

B) Woman’s Treatments (We will provide). Most women will simply need to take the vitamin powder, thyroid, and if low an iron supplement.

1. Get outstanding overall nutritional support with the “Energy Revitalization Powder” by Enzymatic Therapy and a healthy, well-balanced diet. Stay on the vitamin powder when you get pregnant and through breast feeding. We will supply the powder. Take ½ to 1 scoop a day as feels best (use less if diarrhea) and the one capsule. When you get pregnant, add calcium, iron, and fish oil to optimize your pregnancy.

2. Add prescription Armour thyroid 30 mg adjusted to dose that feels best (to a maximum of 90 mg or 3 tablets). Take it in the morning, preferably on an empty stomach. Do not take iron or calcium supplements within six hours of the thyroid dose, or the thyroid will not be absorbed. Take your calcium at dinner and bedtime. If you get shaky or hyper, chest pain or racing heart, lower the thyroid dose (or stop it) and let’s discuss. Stay on the thyroid through your pregnancy (it supports a healthy pregnancy). Low thyroid function despite normal tests is an extremely common cause of both infertility and miscarriages.

Armour Thyroid (Rx)—30 mg (1/2 grain = 30 mg) (natural thyroid glandular). Take ½ tablet each morning on an empty stomach for one week and then one tablet each morning. Increase by ½ to 1 tablet each 1-6 weeks (till you’re on three tablets or the dose that feels best). Check a repeat Free T4 blood level when you’re on three tablets a day (or your optimum dose) for 6-8 weeks.

Natural cures for inflammation

Natural Remedies For Inflammation

Jack Challem

With the fanfare of a holiday parade, drug companies a few years ago unveiled two new Cox-2 inhibitor drugs-Celebrex and Vioxx-to treat arthritis, inflammation, premenstrual syndrome, and potentially even cancer. All the hoopla paid off. Since then, doctors have written more than seven million prescriptions for these “super aspirin” drugs, earning hundreds of million dollars for their makers.

Cox-2 is short for cyclooxygenase-2, one of the key enzymes that helps the body produce inflammatory hormone-like compounds called prostaglandins and cytokines. Cox-2 is essential-without it, we wouldn’t be able to fight infections or heal injuries. But when the body overproduces Cox-2, the result is chronic inflammation and pain.

The intensive marketing and advertising of Cox-2 inhibitors obscured why many people overproduce the enzyme. Too much Cox-2 appears to result from imbalances and deficiencies of certain nutrients. Rather than correct these underlying dietary problems, pharmaceutical Cox-2 inhibitors only mask the most visible symptoms. Relatively minor dietary changes, plus some vitamin and herbal supplements, correct the underlying problems.

Problems with Cox-2 Inhibitor Drugs

For years, people have used nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), such as ibuprofen, to treat the inflammation and pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. NSAIDS ease inflammation by inhibiting the activity of both Cox-2 and Cox-1, the latter an enzyme that helps maintain homeostasis (biological equilibrium) protect the stomach lining. Because stomach ulcers occur in about 25 percent of NSAID users, pharmaceutical companies worked to develop NSAIDS that blocked only the activity of Cox-2. The idea was that a selective Cox-2 inhibitor would reduce inflammation but not irritate the stomach.

The motivation was profiting from a potentially huge market. An estimated 40 million Americans suffer from some form of arthritis. In a typical year, physicians write about 60 million prescriptions for NSAIDS-to say nothing of their over-the-counter sales. However, each year some half-million people develop complications from NSAIDS, with an estimated 80,000 people requiring hospitalization and 8,000 dying.

Though touted for their relative safety, Cox-2 inhibitors may be far more hazardous than originally believed. While gastrointestinal problems with Cox-2 inhibitors occur less frequently, they can be severe. Just four months after the FDA approved Celebrex, 10 deaths from the drug were reported. One study has even suggested that Cox-2 is important to the gut and healing ulcers, suggesting that pharmaceutical tampering with the enzyme may not be wise.

The Double-Edged Sword of Inflammation

Nutrients supply the most basic building blocks of the body’s powerful inflammatory compounds. The “parent” nutrient is linoleic acid, found in many foods but especially concentrated in vegetable oils (e.g., corn, soy, and safflower oils). The body converts linoleic acid to the omega-6 family of fatty acids, including arachidonic acid. Cox-2 plays a critical role in converting arachidonic acid to the hormone-like prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and to the cytokines interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFa), all of which promote inflammation.

According to Robert F. Grimble, Ph.D., of the University of Southampton, England, once an infection or injury stimulates production of IL-1 and TNFa, these two proinflammatory compounds can further stimulate each other, as well as IL-6. In addition, IL-1 and TNF a trigger the production of free radicals, which encourage the production of more proinflammatory cytokines. The proinflammatory reaction essentially feeds on itself, setting the stage for chronic inflammation.

Ideally, the body balances these compounds with a group of antiinflammatory compounds that originate with alpha-linolenic acid, found in cold-water fish, leafy green vegetables, and flaxseed. The body converts alpha-linolenic acid to the omega-3 family of fatty acids, which include eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Preformed EPA and DHA are also found in cold-water fish.

Much of the problem with inflammatory disorders actually stems from a lopsided imbalance in dietary intake of the omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids-and the consequential cascade in proinflammatory activity. Artemis Simopolous, M.D., director of the Center for Genetics, Nutrition and Health in Washington, D.C., has shown that people historically consumed roughly equal amounts of the proinflammatory omega-6 fatty acids and the antiinflammatory omega-3 fatty acids.

However, over the past 30 years or so, Americans have replaced much of their dietary saturated fat (a bystander, so far as inflammation is concerned) with omega-6 fatty acids. Simopoulos estimates that people are now eating 20 times more omega-6s than omega-3s. From a biochemical standpoint, this sets the stage for powerful and chronic proinflammatory reactions.

Indeed, inflammation plays a role in many diseases, including arthritis, gingivitis and most of “-itis” diseases. Recent research has pointed to the role of inflammation in heart disease, stroke, and even Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, Bruce N. Ames, Ph.D., of the University of California, Berkeley, has estimated that chronic inflammation and infection cause about one-third of all cancers.

This relationship between diet, inflammation, and cancer was recently demonstrated by researchers at the American Health Foundation, Valhalla, New York. In animal experiments, they noted that corn oil (rich in omega-6) increased Cox-2 activity, whereas fish oil (rich in omega-3) blunted Cox-2 activity. The researchers also showed that the omega-6 fatty acids could promote the growth of colon cancer, whereas the omega-3 fatty acids prevented cancer.

In addition to a diet containing too many omega-6 fatty acids, a shortage of nutritional antioxidants, such as vitamin E, also contributes to chronic inflammation. The proinflammatory cytokines, IL-1 and TNFa, trigger the release of free radicals. A diet rich in antioxidants-found chiefly in vegetables and fruit-can help neutralize these free radicals. But relatively few people-9 to 34 percent, according to different researchers-eat the recommended five daily servings of vegetables and fruit. Between an excess omega-6 fatty acids and a lack of omega-3 fatty acids, and inadequate intake of antioxidants, the body’s proinflammatory reaction goes out of control, leading to chronic inflammation and pain.

Quenching the Fires of Inflammation

The simplest and most biochemically sound way of turning down the body’s proinflammatory prostaglandins and cytokines is by restoring a balance between pro- and antiinflammatory foods. From a dietary standpoint, this means switching from vegetable oils to extra-virgin olive oil (high in antiinflammatory omega-9 fatty acids). It also means avoiding most processed (boxed, canned, or frozen) foods, because their makers frequently add omega-6 fatty acids. By eating simple unprocessed foods-such as baked chicken, a salad, and steamed vegetables-it becomes easier to consume a more balanced ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.

However, if you’re like most people, you’ve been eating a diet high in omega-6 fatty acids and low in antioxidants for years. Simply restoring a balance is not enough to quickly offset accumulated damage, because the fatty acid composition of the body’s cells reflects their dietary ratios. It’s imperative to increase consumption of antiinflammatory fatty acids and antioxidants.

These are the supplements to emphasize:

  • Omega-3 essential fatty acids

Found in fish oils, EPA and DHA are essential building blocks for the body’s antiinflammatory prostaglandins (e.g., prostaglandin E1) and for turning off Cox-2 and the body’s proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6, and TNFa). In addition, omega-3 fatty acids block the activity of an enzyme that breaks down joint cartilage. Daily dosage: 3 or more grams.

    • Vitamin E

Although Cox-2 and prostaglandin E2 levels rise with age, animal studies have shown that vitamin E supplements reverse the increase in Cox-2 and prostaglandin E2. Vitamin E also turns off nuclear factor-kB (NF-kB) and activator protein-1 (AP-1), compounds that turn on inflammatory genes. One recent study found that arthritics taking supplements of natural vitamin E (600 mg twice daily) for 12 weeks had their pain reduced by about half. Daily dosage: 400-800 IU.

    • Polyphenols and Flavonoids

Researchers at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, recently reported that the antioxidant polyphenols in green tea had antiinflammatory properties by inhibiting Cox-2 and TNFa. Genistein inhibits prostaglandin E2 and Cox-2, and quercetin inhibits the activity of inflammation-promoting “adhesion” molecules. It’s likely that Pycnogenol, grape seed extract, and other flavonoids work through similar mechanisms. Daily dosage: 25-500 mg.

    • Silymarin

A cell-culture study found that silymarin, the antioxidant extract of milk thistle, inhibited Cox-2 formation. This role of silymarin may partly explain why earlier cell-culture studies found it to inhibit the growth of prostate, breast, and skin cancers. Daily dosage: 100-200 mg.

    • Rosemary

This common kitchen herb is rich in ursolic acid and many of its derivatives. In laboratory experiments, Swedish researchers found that the ursolic acid extract of rosemary was a potent inhibitor of Cox-2 activity. Daily dosage: 100 mg.

    • Cat’s Claw

Known as una de gato and Uncaria tomentosa, this Peruvian herb has a long history as a remedy for inflammatory arthritis. Recent cell-culture and animal experiments at the Albany Medical College, New York, found that cat’s claw inhibited inflammation by blocking the activity of NF-kB. Daily dosage: Because products vary, follow label directions.

The take home message in all this is relatively simple: pharmaceutical drugs, while providing rapid relief of symptoms, do not correct the underlying cause of chronic inflammation. The cause is frequently a diet that’s either unbalanced or lacking in key nutrients. No drug can correct a nutritional deficiency or imbalance. Only nutrients can do that.

natural cures for insomnia

How To Treat Insomnia Naturally

Lissa Rankin, MD offers natural remedies for insomnia.

We’ve all been there. You go to bed right on time, knowing the alarm will jar you awake 8 hours later. You’ve got a big presentation in the morning. Or your grad school interview is the next day. Or you just know the baby will be waking you soon. So it’s critical that you fall asleep – now.

But the clock tick-tick-ticks by and your brain is buzzing. Times passes. Then more time passes. You try not to look at the clock, but you can’t take the suspense, and when you finally do look, it’s been two hours, and you’re still wide awake. Now panic sets in. What if you can’t sleep at all? What if you’ll have to get through the whole next day on zero sleep? Freaking out only makes it worse.

So you count sheep. You read a book for a while. Nothing helps.  So what do you do?

Here are some natural tips to help you snooze peacefully through the night.

Lifestyle Modifications

  • Dim the lights an hour or two before bedtime to allow your body to increase natural melatonin.
  • Use window treatments to darken the room or wear a sleep mask.
  • Establish regular sleep-wake cycles, even on weekends.
  • Reduce the noise level around you and turn off the TV at least an hour before bedtime.
  • Reserve your bedroom for sleeping and making love.
  • Make your bed a sanctuary. Splurge on high thread count cotton sheets, a down comforter, a favorite pillow, or an extra luxe mattress, like Tempur-Pedic.  Surround your bed with flowers and candles.
  • Eliminate or reduce caffeine, especially in the afternoon or evening.
  • Increase light exposure during the day to promote healthy melatonin balance.
  • Use breathing and relaxation exercises, such as guided imagery CDs.
  • Shut your brain off at night. Don’t work, watch stimulating shows, or engage in thought-provoking activities just before bedtime.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Do leg exercises just before bed to divert blood flow to your legs, rather than your brain.
  • Visualize yourself asleep as you go to sleep.  Practice deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation by tensing and relaxing muscles all over your body.
  • Brew a strong cup of chamomile tea before bed, using 2-3 teabags.
  • Consume no more than 1 serving of alcohol per day. Excess alcohol can disrupt sleep.

Nutrition

  • Eat foods high in tryptophan before bedtime, such as lean turkey.
  • Eat foods high in magnesium, such as halibut, almonds, cashews, and spinach.
  • Eat foods high in Vitamin B complex, such as leafy green vegetables, nuts, and legumes.

Supplements

  • Taurine 1000-2000mg daily before sleep. You can repeat the dose if you wake up at night to help you get back to sleep.
  • L-tryptophan, taken with taurine, helps promote sleep. Taurine has a calming effect and L-tryptophan has a more hypnotic effect.  Take 500-3000mg before sleep.  Begin with 500mg and increase every third day by 500mg as needed.  If you wake up at night, take half your nighttime dose.
  • Vitamin B6- 100-300mg/day with food.
  • Magnesium glycinate 400-1000mg/day with food.  Begin with the lowest dose and increase by 100mg/day.  Reduce your dose if your stools are loose.
  • Valerian root extract- use as directed on the label.

Natural cures for hemorrhoids

If you have ever had the unpleasant misfortune of dealing with a Hemorrhoid flare up, then you understand how painful, irritating and embarrassing a Hemorrhoid can be. Hemorrhoids can affect your lifestyle, and make your everyday rituals difficult or uncomfortable. Hemorrhoids will itch, irritate and cause pain, and can make it hard to exercise, sit down, use the restroom and sometimes even perform casual movement.

Before fighting Hemorrhoids, let us understand exactly what a Hemorrhoid is. Hemorrhoids are swollen veins inside the rectum. Hemorrhoids are often caused by increased pressure from difficult-to-pass bowel movements, frequent diarrhea or constipation, sitting on the toilet for too long, rapid weight gain or obesity, heavy lifting and any other strain placed on the rectal area.

Since Hemorrhoids are usually reoccurring, most people who are afflicted with this stressful problem do not want to spend money on pricey medications or expensive surgery. Thankfully, there are several options that present a natural cure for Hemorrhoid problems that may help resolve your Hemorrhoid issues.

Herbal medicines are available that can both ease the pain and itchiness of a Hemorrhoid, and possible even get rid of the Hemorrhoid. Herbal medicines can be an inexpensive way to treat Hemorrhoid symptoms. The following are herbs that supposedly relieve Hemorrhoid pressure: Grape Seed Extract, Butchers Broom, Horse Chestnut, Bromelain and certain types of Flavonoids.

Certain cream applications containing natural ingredients can be another inexpensive solution to your Hemorrhoid problem. Specific natural ingredients in Hemorrhoid creams include Aloe products, Honey mixtures and Cranesbill. These natural remedies are said to relieve Hemorrhoid pressure and reduce the burning and itching sensations that persists.

Soaking in a hot tub is yet another way to combat your Hemorrhoid problem. The heat from the water is supposed to reduce the pressure of the Hemorrhoid, which can lead to a decrease in size of the Hemorrhoid. Adding certain mineral salts, such as Epsom Salt, to your bath should relieve Hemorrhoid discomfort.

A final tip on fighting against Hemorrhoids is maintaining a healthy and fibrous diet. As mentioned previously, Hemorrhoids can be caused by difficult-to-pass bowel movements, frequent diarrhea or constipation, sitting on the toilet too long and obesity. Developing and maintaining a nutritional diet with a healthy dose of fiber can regulate normal bowel movements, reduce and stop diarrhea or constipation, prevent sitting on the toilet too long and counteract obesity.

An overlooked part to a healthy diet is the frequent drinking of water. If you do not know by now that water is the most important element of having a healthy life, then put that soda down and go do some research before it is too late. Water cleans your system of impurities , stimulates proper blood circulation through the body and helps with the proper functioning of your intestines and bowel system. As you should already know, it is recommended that six to eight glasses of water a day is ideal for the human body.

These are all excellent ways to finding a natural cure for Hemorrhoid complications. However, if the difficulties continue or worsen, it is suggested that you at least see a doctor and find out what he or she advises, because if you have ever had a Hemorrhoid, then you know that it is something that you want to get rid of as soon as possible.

Natural cures for schizophrenia

Curing Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia like any illness is due to an homeostatic imbalance, and can be considered on the far right on the bipolar-Schizo-affective disorder-schizophrenia spectrum.

The amount of neurotoxins {aspartame}, cancer causing chemicals{sacharin, fluoride} and chemicals that are more lethal that any street drugs are unfortunetly given to the mentally ill, as a former bipolar, I found the cure using alternative medicine alone, the following worked for me, and God-willing will work for you, I have modified it to suit your specific condition, by re-reading the books stated, let’s begin:

Intestinal Dysbiosis/Candida Overgrowth

‘All diseases begin in the gut’ Hippocrates 460-370BC

Mental illness starts not in the Brain but the Gut. Do you have digestive problems like colic, bloating, flatulence, diarrhoea, constipation, and malnourishment {are you very skinny and find it difficult to put on weight?}, and do you have a white/yellow-coating on your tongue? Do you suffer from frequent headaches, mood swings, depression, fatigue, and other symptoms related to ‘candida overgrowth?’

Read ‘Gut And Psychology Syndrome’ By. Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride MD, NMedSci{neurology}, MMedSci{nutrition}
This doctor, who has a clinic in Cambridge for treating mental illnesses like Autism, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, Depression, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar Disorder. Her son suffered from Autism, she found the cure and the root cause, and believes that all mental illness can be cured, that underlying these seemingly diverse labels, is a unified theory behind all mental illness, manifesting differently due to the type of psychological trauma, childhood experiences, personality and even influenced by activated genes. Although mental illness is not genetic, as you may have been told…

I found that my bipolar disorder was caused or worsened by Candida overgrowth or Candida Related Complex. You should consult a Naturopathic Doctor {not a homeopath, they’re different}, a Nutritionist that has treated Schizophrenia before, and an orthomolecular medicine doctor.

Candida thrive on sugar, so Cut out all sugar, unstable/imbalanced blood sugar levels can cause depression and hyperactivity, replace table sugar with Xylitol {much more healthier and beneficial and tastes the same in the same portions! you wont notice too much of a difference, don’t go near NutraSweet or Aspartame, monosodium glutamate MSG – avoid like the plague}. Fasting & Detoxification

Do a detox fast a 3-day apple fast, only red/golden delicious apples, and fresh water, along with coffee enema’s, this is all stated in ‘Cure your acne in 3 days’ but it works great for mental illness, many patients suffering from mental illness have bad skin according to one conventional website i was reading. Which laughingly went on to say this was also ‘genetic’. This fast will help rid your body of the accumulated toxins affecting your brain, and kill a lot of Candida Yeast.

See the outlined 3-day fast here, although for acne, it will work for bipolar disorder also:

Recent studies have shown that Prozac {a popular antidepressant} has anti-fungal/candida properties, and inhibits its growth, this is due to Serotonin. Further, Sodium Valporate {used as a mood stabiliser} has been shown to stop the growth of harmful pathogenic microorganisms/worms in the gut. This is very interesting findings, as it supports that mental illness is due to problems in the gut or intestinal dysbiosis.

Go on the anti-candida diet. Source: ‘The Yeast Connection’ Book

Drink Alkali water, add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to every litre of purified water you drink, this will prevent disease and reduce the growth of Candida. Source: Mr X Acne e-book

Look also into Gerson Therapy/Juicing, this has cured many diseases, not just cancer, it will cure mental illness. But start this after you have rid yourself of candida.

Correcting Nutritional Deficiencies

-Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega 3 supplements or Carlson’s Brand 2-3g per day has been shown in scientific studies to reduce mental illness significantly. Strictly, the brands mentioned as they are pure pharmaceutical grade, and are used in clinical trials, plus the Carlson’s Brand has added fat-soluble vitamins.
Google it to see the research with omega 3 and its remarkable effects on mental illness, yet more evidence that mental illness is due to nutritional deficiencies, which has been aggravated by Candida overgrowth/Intestinal Dysbiosis.

-EM Power Plus + by TrueHope, has been shown to be very effective, look at the testimonies on mcmillans BiPolar website. Personally i have not used this, as my current nutrition programs works great.

-A multivitamin/ mineral supplement in a bioavailable form, E.g . Higher Nature brand

SAMe – 400mg per day, this will boost your energy levels. And has been called the ‘instant antidepressant’, please have the histamine blood test done with the help of a mental-health orientated nutritionist, before taking this. If you are high-histamine {google it}, you will need to take methionine 1000-2000mg per day.

Scientific Blood/Urine tests

The best way to pinpoint the exact imbalance, or imbalances, as mental illness is mot likely a myriad of conditions manifesting simultaneously, it is best to get blood tests to find out what the problem is:

Get blood tests, to test for:

- Histamine {high histamine is the cause of many Schizophrenia type symptoms, highly recommend this test}

- Pyroluria, http://www.kryptopyrrole.com/

- Allergies, Allergies to certain foods can cause psychological problmes/mental instability, the most common offenders are Milk, Gluten, Egg, Wheat in that order, try eliminating each one for atleast 72hours and see how you feel.

- Candida Comprehensive Stool test, or D-Mannitol Urine Test {best and most accurate, bu hard to find a lab/scientist that does this, as its new}

-Nutritional deficiencies/Nutritional profile

- Adrenal exhaustion,

- Homocysteine,

- Thyroid disorders, including Wilson’s Thyroid disorder, although this involves monitoring youe body temperature immediately on waking, I think it should be above 97.5F, I am not sure, check this first/research.

- Heavy metal toxicity, Ever heard some on say his as ‘Mad as a Shoe Maker’, well shoe makers used to use harmful chemicals like mercury, lead which made them go mad. Heavy metals are in civil water supplies, and even bottled water, as well as from metal pans/cookware, this can accumulate in the body and cause mental illness, or even Alzheimer’s disease.

Your nutritionist can arrange these test through a local lab, or you could open the yellow pages, get phoning to local naturopaths/nutritionist and finding a local lab and/or their assistance…Biolab in London does this.

The Cure for Mental illness was Found Decades Ago!!!

Read Carl Pfeiffer’s PhD book ‘Nutrition and Mental Illness’, he was a pioneer with orthomolecular medicine and cured many people of Schizophrenia, some say 5000 {Patrick Holford}.
The Brain Bio Centre in London continues his work, as does the one in Princeton US, although it is very expensive. And in my opinion you can recover and save the money if you read and search for the knowledge, although I know how difficult that can be.

Dr. Carl Pfieffer MD PhD cured bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, OCD and many other mental illnesses, 30 years ago, he used mega doses of vitamins/mineral to cure the patient, he claimed Schizophrenics had a genetic predisposition to be dificient of niacin. And Bipolars/Schizophrenics were High Histamine, which can be reduced by taking Vitamin C 1000 – 2000mg as Magnesium Ascorbate and and L-Methionine amino acid supplement.

Exercise as much as you can! especially in the morning, 30mins per day minimum, or Yoga, swimming, meditation, do something relaxing.

Take Coenzyme Q10 30mg to boost energy levels, when you feel tired, also SAMe.

Why does my Doctor/Psychiatrist not know this?

Conventional medicine is crap at treating mental illness, alternative medicine has the answers. Just try it out first, regardless of what your Dr. will tell you. Just try it.

Psychiatrists make a lot of money from chronic life long mental illnesses, which they claim is genetic and incurable, which is a load of BS. Further drug companies make a lot of money from you; since most mental illness cannot be cured {according to the Doctors, since they are merely repeating what they learnt at med school} you have to stay on medication for a life-time {as maintenance}

Psychiatrists examine mental illness from various angles, although they are helpful, they do not address
